A Packers fan for over three decades located in England, Colin Greaves turned 50 and his wife gave him the ultimate gift to celebrate the landmark birthday: two tickets to Lambeau Field for the Sept. 13 game vs. the Chicago Bears, with airfare to Green Bay.
So he and his son, Ben, made the trip, visited the Packers Hall of Fame, explored Lambeau Field on a stadium tour and also went to the Packers Pro Shop to pick up some gear that isn’t available back home. Then, of course, the father and son went to the game, a 23-10 victory for the Packers.
“Having followed the Packers from afar since first seeing edited TV highlights in 1982, I still can’t believe I’m going to see ‘Lambeau under the lights,’ especially vs. the Bears,” Colin said.
The gift was a surprise. How does Colin best describe his reaction on his birthday when he learned he was heading to Green Bay to see the Packers take on their biggest rival?
“I was stunned,” he said.
